課程簡介 Course description
本課程介紹人文學院科目的基本論文寫作原則,主要的寫作參考工具,以及如何將這些觀念運用在樂曲分析與音樂史的研究報告上。上學期的課程分成三大部分:1)主要的參考工具書及電子資料庫,如 Music Index, JSTOR, Grove Music Online, Naxos;2) 寫作論文的引證 (citation) 格式,如註腳和書目資料;3) 主要的參考工具書及電子資料庫,如JSTOR和 Grove Music Online。下學期我們將把這些理論應用在實際的寫作上,如短篇的研究報告、樂曲解說及摘要。
This course introduces fundamental research methods, principles of citation, and basic research tools. A core course for first-year undergraduate, music majors, it lays the theoretical foundation of research methods necessary for academic writing in various disciplines in the humanities. Equally importantly, it links the research method and writing skills in question to the writing of music, helping students to express and organize their arguments in a professional way.Course description Course description
This course introduces the basic essay writing principles for subjects in the School of Humanities, the main writing reference tools, and how to apply these concepts to research reports on music analysis and music history. The course last semester was divided into three parts: 1) major reference books and electronic databases, such as Music Index, JSTOR, Grove Music Online, Naxos; 2) citation formats for writing papers, such as footnotes and bibliographic materials; 3) Major reference books and electronic databases, such as JSTOR and Grove Music Online. Next semester we will apply these theories to practical writing, such as short research reports, music explanations and abstracts.
