本課程的主要目的在於訓練學生了解中國近代美術史裡的重要藝術家、作品以及相關的課題。除此之外,課程的討論也涉及藝術史理論中的分期(periodization)問題:到底中國的近代與現代分期的區分何在?不同的分期又如何對中國的近現代美術會有如何的影響?在此一觀照下,中國的近代美術史其實會呈現迥然不同的詮釋與意義。
The main purpose of this course is to train students to understand important artists, works and related topics in the history of modern Chinese art. In addition, the course discussion also involves the issue of periodization in art historical theory: What is the difference between modern and modern periodization in China? How will different periods affect China’s modern art? Under this perspective, China’s modern art history will actually present completely different interpretations and meanings.
