近年來發現部份統計系學生因受到高中填鴨式教學的影響,數學基礎能力不佳,基本數理寫作方式不良,且無法瞭解各項數學推論與證明過程,因而導致學習意願不高,學習成效低落。自97學年度開始,大一新生於入學一週內參加一個數學檢定測驗。本系強烈建議(但不強制)測驗成績不佳的同學選修「統計數學」這門補救課程。本課程目前仍屬於實驗性課程在執行數年後,再依成效決定成唯一門固定課程。
本課程的教學內容含邏輯學入門、證明方法簡介、集合論、數學歸納法、組合學、遞迴理論簡介、排序關係與數學結構(如lattice)。本課程的重點是
In recent years, it has been found that some students in the Department of Statistics have been affected by the cramming teaching in high schools. They have poor basic mathematics ability, poor basic mathematics writing methods, and are unable to understand various mathematical inferences and proof processes. As a result, they have low willingness to learn and low learning effectiveness. . Since the 1997 academic year, freshmen have taken a math test within one week of admission. The department strongly recommends (but does not require) students with poor test scores to take the remedial course "Statistical Mathematics". This course is still an experimental course. After a few years of implementation, it will be decided to become the only fixed course based on the results.
The teaching contents of this course include introduction to logic, introduction to proof methods, set theory, mathematical induction, combinatorics, introduction to recursion theory, sorting relationships and mathematical structures (such as lattice). The focus of this course is
