近年來發現部份統計系學生因受到高中填鴨式教學的影響,數學基礎能力不佳,基本數理寫作方式不良,且無法瞭解各項數學推論與證明過程,因而導致學習意願不高,學習成效低落。自97學年度開始,大一新生於入學一週內參加一個數學檢定測驗。本系強烈建議(但不強制)測驗成績不佳的同學選修「統計數學」這門補救課程。本課程目前仍屬於實驗性課程在執行數年後,再依成效決定成唯一門固定課程。
本課程的教學內容含邏輯學入門、證明方法簡介、集合論、數學歸納法、組合學、遞迴理論簡介、排序關係與數學結構(如lattice)。本課程的重點是
In recent years, it has been discovered that some students in the discipline department are affected by the high school fill-in-chief teaching, have poor basic mathematical skills, poor basic mathematical writing methods, and cannot understand the various mathematical recommendations and certification processes, which leads to low learning intentions and low learning results. Since the 1997 year, freshmen have participated in a math test test within one week of their induction. This department strongly recommends (but not restrictive) students with poor test experience to choose the "Standard Mathematics" remedial course. This course is currently still a practical course after several years of execution, and then it will be determined based on the results.
