This two-semester engineering design course is designed for 2nd, 3rd year and 4th college students having previous knowledge in general science and basic engineering concept. Students enrolled in this course should expect to learn how to reduce the nagative impacts of the environment, safety and health issues in the manufacturing facilities and develop the personal skills to consider Health, Safety, and environmental issuzs during plant design, operation including start-up, normal operation and shutdown.This two-semester engineering design course is designed for 2nd, 3rd year and 4th college students having previous knowledge in general science and basic engineering concept. The class starts with the introduction on the energy and material balances on the chemical and/or environmental treating system. This arrangement will bring students with solid foundation for the subseqent process design for environmental and safe considerations. Students enrolled in this course should expect to learn the process flow-sheet with heat and material balance, engineering design to reduce negative impacts on health, safety and environment for the plant operation.
