工程統計學為工程師應具備的基礎學識之一。一位有良好工程統計訓練的工程師,得以靈活地使用數據資料,了解其代表的適當意義,並得以藉部分資料探悉全部狀況,更進而由過去與目前狀況的資料以預測未來情況。本課程教學目的即在訓練具上述能力的工程師人才。
Engineering statistics is one of the basic knowledge that engineers should possess. An engineer with good engineering statistics training can use data flexibly, understand the appropriate meaning of its representation, and use partial data to understand the entire situation, and further predict future situations from data on past and current conditions.
