言語と社会の関係について検討する授業です．台湾や日本が中心になりますが，アジア，世界に関する資料も検討することで，台日の状況がより深く理解できるようになる，と考えます．
一学期は，「ミクロ社会言語学」的な視点から，言語の多様性について考えていきたいと思います．
まずは，関西，九州，東北など日本の地域方言の多様性について、実際に方言話者と交流しながら学びましょう．
そのほか，もう少し授業内容を挙げると・・・
1．受講生の皆さんの社会的・個人的言語プロフィールの検討（社会や個人の多言語性の（再）確認，言語習得・言語学習の経験の分享）
2，台湾日本等の多言語社会の検討（”方言”の検討，台湾諸語の検討など）
3．言語を用いた社会生活の諸相（マイノリティの生活と言語，手話の検討など）
4．性差と言語についての検討（議論をリードするのは誰？役割語って何？女性語と男性語？）
