課程以中文系同學之需要而設計（有一年以上文學專業知識訓練但未修過西方文學課程者）。
一、介紹西方文學傳統：以精讀作品文本與歷史述說方式進行。
二、反思中國文學課題：以比較文學方式進行中西文學對照與反思。The course is designed according to the needs of Chinese students (those who have been trained in professional knowledge in literature for more than one year but have not studied Western literature courses).
1. Introduction to Western literature traditions: by carefully reading the text of the work and historical statements.
2. Reflect on the topic of Chinese literature: Comparative literature and reflection on Chinese and Western literature.

（二）小說：史威夫特、托爾斯泰、莫泊桑、契柯夫、卡夫卡、卡謬
（三）文學史：呂健忠、李奭學編譯《西洋文學概論》、《近代西洋文學》
