(一) 掌握中國民間文學的源流及演變軌跡，理解體會俗文學與雅文學對人民生活不同面向之影響，了解通俗文學的價值與意義，認識俗文學之多元風貌。
(二) 培養學生欣賞、鑒察俗文學的能力，從中體會中國傳統文化深刻的思想內涵與民族情感，從中品味老祖宗的生活智慧與人生哲學。
(三)訓練學生蒐集俗文學資料，包含古典文獻資料以及從生活中取材，如：訪問耆老、遊賞地方風物、考察地方習俗等，培養學生敏銳觀察俗文學對於生活無所不在的浸潤。
(四) 引導學生將俗文學應用於生活實務，如：猜燈謎、寫對聯、設計文字遊戲、表演繞口令、熟悉歷史人物傳說、了解臺灣風土民情。
(五)讓學生以輕鬆有趣、不失思想與文化深度的方式，從生活中獲得文學的趣味，進而真正喜愛文學，將文學提升為生活中不可或缺的智慧。(1) Grasp the origin and evolution of Chinese folk literature, understand the impact of popular literature and elegant literature on different aspects of people's lives, understand the value and significance of popular literature, and understand the diverse styles of popular literature.
(2) Cultivate students' ability to appreciate and examine popular literature, experience the profound ideological connotation and national emotions of traditional Chinese culture, and taste the life wisdom and philosophy of life of their ancestors.
(3) Train students to collect popular literature materials, including classical literature materials and draw materials from daily life, such as interviewing elders, traveling to appreciate local scenery, investigating local customs, etc., and cultivate students' keen observation of the ubiquitous infiltration of popular literature into life.
(4) Guide students to apply popular literature to practical life, such as: guessing lantern riddles, writing couplets, designing word games, performing tongue twisters, familiarizing themselves with historical figures and legends, and understanding Taiwan's customs and customs.
(5) Let students gain the interest of literature from life in a relaxed and interesting way without losing ideological and cultural depth, and then truly love literature, and promote literature to be an indispensable wisdom in life.
「俗文學」即「通俗文學」、「民間文學」，臺灣學界往往稱為「俗文學」，有別於主流之「正統文學」，為流行於民間、廣泛地為普羅大眾所喜聞樂見、接受與創造的大眾文學，是非常貼近民眾生活、反映人民心聲的文學形式。
本課程將引導學生認識多采多姿的俗文學，首先認識「俗文學」的定義、內涵及其特質，釐清俗文學與雅文學本質之不同，探討俗文學的類別，評估其價值；其次從俗文學各式各樣的體裁切入探討，探究其具體的範圍與內容：短語綴屬、各類型故事、民族故事、韻文學中的俗文學等等，並引導學生進行主題式思考：以某一類型的主題觀察俗文學因不同的社會型態與時代背景所呈現不同的思維方式與價值。最終，整理俗文學研究的成果以擴展中國文學研究的領域，思考俗文學與民俗學、俗文化、俗語言與俗信仰之間交互影響的關係。
"Popular literature" refers to "popular literature" and "folk literature". It is often called "popular literature" in Taiwanese academic circles. It is different from the mainstream "orthodox literature". It is popular among the people and is widely loved, heard, accepted and accepted by the general public. The popular literature created is a literary form that is very close to people's lives and reflects the people's voices.
This course will guide students to understand the diverse popular literature. First, they will understand the definition, connotation and characteristics of "popular literature", clarify the difference in nature between popular literature and elegant literature, explore the categories of popular literature, and evaluate its value; secondly, follow the basic principles of popular literature. Various genres of literature are discussed in detail, and their specific scope and content are explored: abbreviations, various types of stories, national stories, popular literature in rhyme literature, etc., and students are guided to think thematically: based on a certain Types of theme observation Popular literature presents different ways of thinking and values due to different social types and era backgrounds. Finally, the results of popular literature research are organized to expand the field of Chinese literature research and consider the interactive relationship between popular literature and folklore, popular culture, popular language and popular beliefs.
