隨著全球資本主義的再結構，在千禧年後，「新自由主義(neoliberalism)」強勢地現身在中英文世界的語境中，包括台灣在內。新自由主義化的運作機制與意識形態，衝擊著各個地區的政治經濟與社會文化，乃至於激發了各種「異托邦」的抵抗張力(如社會主義、無政府主義、寰宇主義、民粹主義、國族主義、地域主義與宗教等等)。有人認為應該用「新自由主義全球化(neoliberal globalization)」，來取代浮濫流行的「全球化」一詞，以更精準地掌握當代資本主義的情境，實不為過。

然而，我們如何關係性地理解新自由主義呢? 這個至關重要而複雜的課題，是本課程開設的基本問題意識。如果你對於上面那張授課者設計的構圖，感到有趣、好奇、想要進一步理解其中多維的意涵，那麼你對本課程，應該會有興趣。
本課程主要基於批判地理學(critical geography)的理論視角，佐以相關文獻，規劃十個主題，以seminar的方式進行，以期協助參與者，掌握對新自由主義的基要理解框架，作為後續研究與實踐的概念基礎。

With the restructure of global capitalism, "neoliberalism" has made a strong appearance in the context of the Chinese and English world after the millennium, including Taiwan. The operating mechanism and ideology of neoliberalization have impacted the political economy and social culture of various regions, and even inspired the resistance tensions of various "heterotopias" (such as socialism, anarchism, cosmopolitanism, populism, nationalism, regionalism, religion, etc.). Some people believe that "neoliberal globalization" should be used to replace the popular term "globalization" in order to more accurately grasp the situation of contemporary capitalism. It is not an exaggeration.

However, how do we understand neoliberalism relationally? This crucial and complex topic is the basic problem awareness of this course. If you are interested and curious about the composition designed by the instructor above, and want to further understand its multi-dimensional meaning, then you should be interested in this course.
This course is mainly based on the theoretical perspective of critical geography, supplemented by relevant literature, planning ten themes, and conducting it in a seminar manner, in order to help participants master the basic understanding framework of neoliberalism as a conceptual basis for subsequent research and practice.
