Through this class, students will have a good understanding of major theories in American politics and apply these theories in analyzing public issues in America. In the end of this course, students will also have the ability to write a quality research paper related to American politics. Students might continue to work on their papers in the future for publication purpose.

此課程以美國政治「理論」為經，美國政治「議題」為緯，議題將含括(但不限於)：增兵阿富汗、墮胎、胎盤研究，槍枝管制、教育改革、同性戀結婚、貧富差距、非法移民、仇恨性言論、弱勢族群政策、全球暖化議題等等。
儘管此課程以英語授課，對美國政治有興趣的同學，不必因為懼怕英文而不敢修習此課程，同學們對英文的理解能力不是課堂評分標準，評分依據仍以對此科目的理解為主。

This course is based on the "theory" of American politics and the "controversy" of American politics. The controversy will include (but not limited to): increased troops in Afghanistan, fetal fertility, fetal plaque research, gun control, education reform, same-sex marriage, wealthy gap, illegal immigration, hatred arguments, weak ethnic policies, global warming issues, etc.
Although this course is taught in English, students who are interested in American politics do not have to dare to take this course because they are afraid of English. The students' understanding of English is not the class rating standard, and the rating is still based on their understanding of this subject.
