轉譯醫學， 主要是一門銜接臨床疾病和基礎醫學科學研究的一門課 。 由於人類基因體計畫的完成， 課程會探討人類後基因體時代， 生物資訊 所帶給人類醫療研究的幫助與衝擊。這門課今年將採取分組上課 (2-5 人一組) 。 前面幾堂課， 是以上課的方式， 之後會讓各組學生們以團隊方式， 找出自己感興趣的題材，依團隊輪流報告或進行課堂上討論。研究及報告的題材可以目前人類所面臨的疾病當中挑選出來 (例如阿滋海默症、 癌症 、心臟猝死、新流感等等。 學生可自由尋找團隊有興趣的研究題目 ) 。 課堂上， 本課教師以鼓勵及帶領團隊討論的方式，在這一學期當中，找出可能帶有特殊疾病之Biomarker 或以research and technical development 的方式找出臨床疾病所面臨的挑戰。 所走的方向希望能以群策群力的方式開發新產品 (Biomarker)或改善提升醫療技術等進而創造出有商業價值的醫藥或檢測產品之研發及構想。

Translational medicine is mainly a course that connects clinical diseases and basic medical research. Due to the completion of the Human Genome Project, the course will explore the help and impact of bioinformatics on human medical research in the post-genome era. This class will be held in groups this year (2-5 students per group). The first few classes are in the form of a class, and then each group of students will work as a team to find out the topics they are interested in, and take turns to report or discuss in class as a team. Topics for research and reports can be selected from the diseases currently facing mankind (such as Alzheimer's disease, cancer, sudden cardiac death, new influenza, etc. Students are free to find research topics that the team is interested in). In class, the teacher encourages and leads team discussions to identify biomarkers that may have special diseases or identify challenges faced by clinical diseases through research and technical development during this semester. The direction we are taking is to develop new products (Biomarkers) or improve medical technology through collective efforts to create R&D and ideas for pharmaceutical or testing products with commercial value.
