生命倫理學是20世紀70年代所興起的一門新學科。儘管發展的歷史短暫，但與生命倫理學有關的事情，卻是我們日常生活中經常會碰觸到的課題(報章雜誌、新聞媒體時常可以看到像器官移植、基因工程、人工生殖等課題的討論)。如果說科技始終來自於人性，那麼面臨生物科技的進步(特別是在醫學方面)對傳統倫理學所帶來的挑戰，如何道德地對待生命，就成了我們所必須積極面對的課題，也是生命倫理學所要教導我們的。本課程將由兩位老師分別針對東西方哲學對生命倫理學相關課題所提出的觀點引導學生進行探討。透過這樣的方式，使學生能以更廣闊地視角來對生命倫理學相關課題進行反思。

Bioethics is a new discipline that emerged in the 1970s. Although it has a short history of development, matters related to bioethics are topics that we often encounter in our daily lives (newspapers, magazines, and news media often see discussions on topics such as organ transplantation, genetic engineering, and artificial reproduction). If technology always comes from human nature, then in the face of the challenges brought by the progress of biotechnology (especially in medicine) to traditional ethics, how to treat life morally has become a topic that we must actively face, and it is also what bioethics wants to teach us. In this course, two teachers will guide students to discuss the perspectives of Eastern and Western philosophy on bioethics-related topics. Through this method, students can reflect on bioethics-related topics from a broader perspective.
