他者(the other)概念是當代人文社會科學裏的大概念，法國猶太哲學家列維納斯(Emmanuel Levinas)是他者概念最重要的闡釋者之一，本課程嘗試介紹列氏思想，透過導讀他的經典著作，我們要對列氏的他者現象學(phenomenology of the other)作一個簡要但全面的刻畫。在課程規劃上，我們要以列氏的訪談錄作為綜觀其思想全局的主軸，並選擇他的兩部重要哲學作品《整體與無限》(Totality and Infinity)以及《存有之外》(Otherwise than Being)的部分段落、以及他的猶太法典詮釋的部分篇章進行導讀，期能帶領同學進入列氏的思想世界。The concept of the other is a major concept in contemporary humanities and social sciences. French philosopher Emmanuel Levinas is one of the most important figures of the concept of the other. This course attempts to introduce Levine's thoughts. Through his reading of his classic works, we want to make a simple but comprehensive picture of the other's phenomenology of the other. In the course planning, we will use Len's interview as the main axis to view the overall situation of his thoughts, and select two important philosophical works, Totality and Infinity, and some paragraphs of Otherwise than Being, as well as some chapters of his Seminary Code for reading, hoping to lead his classmates into Len's thought world.
