本課程屬於通識課程，社會科學領域中的共同必修課。主要修習對象為社會科學院以外的各院學生。課程的內容旨在介紹當今政治學的主要理論(包括政府體制、政黨政治、選舉制度,以及投票行為等),並參酌當前國內外政治情勢的發展,藉由理論與實際的相互驗證,來引發學生對於政治現象的興趣,培養學生對於政治事務的基本知識，進而孕育學生分析、推理、整合、表達、溝通、履行公民責任、以及具備國際視野等相關能力。

This course belongs to the General Course, a common compulsory course in the field of social sciences. The main targets of the training are students from various colleges outside the School of Social Sciences. The content of the course aims to introduce the main theories of today's political science (including government system, political party politics, selection system, and voting behavior, etc.), and to take into account the development of current domestic and foreign political situations, through the mutual verification of theory and actuality, students' interest in political phenomena, cultivate students' basic knowledge of political affairs, and thus nurture students' related abilities such as analysis, reasoning, integration, expression, communication, fulfilling citizenship responsibilities, and having international vision.
