透過生死學相關主題的分析，使同學對生死有廣泛的瞭解，進而建立適當的死亡觀，最終對生命的價值與真諦有更深遠的體悟。

生與死是生命共振之兩端，任何一端之波動，均會造成另一端的震動。特別是一個人如何看待死亡，會深刻地影響他如何對待其生命。但是文化傳統長久以來對死亡的禁忌，導致我們對死亡缺乏適當的認識與反思，而無法深刻體悟生命的意義。此番感慨，視為開授此課程之目的。本課程希冀透過對生死相關主題的探討，以期使學生能夠建立適當的死亡觀，進而對生命的價值與真諦有更深遠的體悟，並更為珍惜自己的生命。簡言之，探討死亡的意義在於對生命的安頓。

Life and death are two ends of the resonance of life. Fluctuations at either end will cause vibrations at the other end. In particular, how a person views death will profoundly affect how he treats his life. However, the long-standing taboo on death in cultural traditions has led to our lack of proper understanding and reflection on death, and our inability to deeply understand the meaning of life. This emotion is regarded as the purpose of teaching this course. This course hopes to enable students to establish a proper view of death through the discussion of topics related to life and death, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the value and true meaning of life, and cherishing their own lives more. In short, the meaning of exploring death lies in the settlement of life.
