Deviant Behavior and Crime
教育目標 Course Target
在日常生活中,偏差行為隨處可見。紅燈右轉、酒後開車、校園霸凌、家庭暴力、蹺班蹺課、考試作弊……當一個人違反社會規範(social norms),其行為有可能被界定為偏差。當偏差行為破壞了社會上認為重要的價值與福祉,由法律體系裁定該行為必須支付代價,於是這些偏差行為構成了犯罪。
有趣的是,在人類歷史上,規範與社會控制隨著時空條件的不同而改變,於是偏差行為乃至於犯罪本身也呈顯不同的意義和面貌。本課程從社會學角度出發,從三個面向切入理解「偏差行為與犯罪」,包括:了解偏差與犯罪行為的各種理論觀點、偏差與犯罪的社會控制機制(包含非正式、法律和醫療面向)、不同偏差與犯罪類型背後的社會意涵。
In daily life, deviant behavior can be seen everywhere. Turning right on red lights, driving under the influence, school bullying, domestic violence, skipping classes, cheating on exams... When a person violates social norms, his or her behavior may be defined as a deviation. When deviant behaviors destroy the values and well-being that are considered important in society, the legal system determines that a price must be paid for the behavior, so these deviant behaviors constitute a crime.
Interestingly, in human history, norms and social control have changed with different time and space conditions, so deviant behavior and even crime itself have taken on different meanings and appearances. This course starts from a sociological perspective and approaches the understanding of "deviant behavior and crime" from three aspects, including: understanding various theoretical perspectives on deviant and criminal behavior, the social control mechanisms of deviant and criminal behavior (including informal, legal and medical aspects), and the social implications behind different types of deviant and criminal behavior.
