Course Target

Since I came to Donghai to teach, I have taught the "History of Social Thought" course five times, of which four academic years, including 92, 93, 98, and 99, are all academic year courses, and 101 academic year is simply the academic year course (101-2). The course structures of the past five years have all been taught from the classical Greek period, and have been taught through Greek, ancient Romans, medieval scriptures, literary rejuvenation, humanistic and rationalism until the inauguration of Mongolian movement. The "History of Social Thought" as a compulsory course in the social department aims to outline the social ideological movements before the rise of society, in order to continue the same compulsory "Social Theory" course. The development of the entire Western modernity, whether looking back at the inspirational movement of the high rationality, or going back to the germination of the modern capitalism of the fifteenth century, must also explain the medieval Christian era from which humanism and literary rejuvenation came. How Christianity emerged from the multi-theistic religious beliefs of the ancient Roman period, and how the concept of God was brought to the joint from the Neoplatic school, naturally cannot be skipped. So we all the way to the Greek and classical Greek periods. When talking about history, whether it is the history of thought, culture, social, or economic history, we cannot turn it off, cut off its origin and make it come true. The de-Chinaization of Taiwan's recent history, which is full of ideological forms and blindness, is the biggest surprise in the academic world. To study Western social thoughts, we naturally have to trace the origin to return to classical Greek. However, since the 100th year, this course has been cut into a course of eighteen weeks, which has made it difficult to investigate the history of thought to be incompatible with the medieval period, let alone the classical period. The last annual watch tasted very carefully, but the time was tight, and it was untamed, with a sense of learning and effect. Therefore, this period of study was adjusted from the literary and artistic rejuvenation stage to avoid progressing to the emperor and missing one or the other. The lost source can only be placed, and it is not a waste. Plan tips for two weeks before the course and specify to read the chapters related to the history of Claude Delmas's European Civilization. I can only recommend myself to visit Daniel J. Boorstin's sloppy "Explorer-" who asked "Why" and Richard Tarnas The relevant chapters of the two books "The Passion of the West" created by Richard Tarnas. This is a tasting. Another major change in this course is that the teaching assistant course is selected from the text of the previous examples and changed to professional study and discussion. This period of study, Peter Gay's great mind-thoughtful but highly readable structure "The Movement of the Moon (Part 2) - Free Science". In other words, in addition to the content of the lecture course, this 654-page book must be read chapter by chapter. For freshmen, it is a challenge to comprehension and endurance. The thoughts that are viewed in the course of the history of social thought are "like the transformation of rain." As the rain falls, your own talent will be transformed. Learning the history of thought can keep you alive and business in your own thoughts, and can cultivate the growth of internal thoughts. I can foresee that the exercise and heavy load of this book will be a joy to transform into a new life through this course. This is university education!
