The goal of this course is to help students to understand the mystery of life. Specifically, we will focus in the molecular aspects of cell, the architecture of cell, inheritance, and the function of genes. This course will use the idea of flipped classroom to promote students to learn. Students need to have lots of reading to help you to inquire knowledge. We also encourage students to discuss in the class to transform the information to become your own knowledge. 藉講演、視聽教材、野外觀察與實習,使學生對植物的結構,生理調節, 微生物及台灣生物多樣性有初步之認識。此課程開設之目的,在使所有生物系之學生,不論其未來學術興趣是分子生物、遺傳工程、生態保育或甚至是跨學科之領域,皆能因對生物之多樣性有充分認識,而能對生命現象有完整的認知。藉對地球上現生物種大尺度的掌握,而能中肯的了解生命現象,不會只將對生命之了解或認知侷限於分子或物理化學層次之間,過渡簡約化對生命之認知,以致自我限制了將來的發展。
Through lectures, listening textbooks, field observation and practice, students have a preliminary understanding of the structure, physiological adjustments, microorganisms and the diversity of Taiwan organisms. The purpose of this course is to enable all students in the biology department to have a complete understanding of the life phenomena, regardless of their future academic interest in molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioconservation or even interdisciplinary fields. By mastering the large scale of living creatures on the earth and being able to understand the phenomena of life in a pertinent way, we will not only limit our understanding or knowledge of life to the level of molecular or physical and chemical science, but will simply transform our understanding of life, which will limit our development.
