荀子的思想,長久以來,有些地構可以說或多或少為學者所誤解,如性惡說、非子思、孟子等等;而後世雖孟、荀並稱,但荀子在儒學的天地裏,地位似乎始終不及孟子,凡此,總得尋求一個合理的解釋。今透過閱讀荀子重要篇章,理解荀子一書的內容、思想特色,及其在儒學中應有的地位。授課的主要內容:就荀子的主要思想,如:天、性、心、禮、政治、教育、正名等面向作系統性的論述。教學目標是期望同學能對各面向的課題,作多層面、多角度的探討,培養拓展其在思想上具備更靈活、細緻、深入的思考模式,為應該日後詭譎多變的社會環境、時代局勢做好妥善的準備。Xunzi's thoughts over the long period of time have been said to be more or less misunderstood by scholars, such as the saying of nature, falsehood, Mencius, etc.; while in later generations, Xunzi's status in the world of Confucianism seemed to be no longer as good as that of Mencius. In all this, we must always seek a reasonable explanation. Now, through reading the important chapters of Xunzi, I understand the content, ideological characteristics of Xunzi's book, and its proper status in Confucianism. The main content of the course: Xunzi's main ideas, such as: heaven, nature, heart, gift, politics, education, and name correction, etc., to make systematic statements. The teaching goal is to hope that students can conduct multi-level and multi-angle explorations on various topics, cultivate and expand their thinking to have a more flexible, detailed and in-depth thinking model, and make proper preparations for the multi-changing social environment and contemporary situation in the future.
