教育目標 Course Target

1. 建立對化石的認識與解構化石的特徵。 2. 建立對地球歷史與生命演化歷程的完整概念。 3. 藉由化石特徵,瞭解各個階段古生物的結構功能。 4. 瞭解生命演化史中,各個生物類群的親緣關係。 5. 藉由瞭解地質史中重大演化與滅絕事件,檢視現今生物所面臨的現況與危機。1. Through the fossil feature, understand the structure and function of paleontology in each stage. 4. 課程概述 Course Description

古生物學主要在闡述地球歷史中,各個階段生命現象的型態特徵、結構功能、親緣關係、生活習性、生理機能與地理分布,並藉由化石與岩層沉積特徵,推斷各地質年代的古氣候環境,探究生命的起源、演化適應與滅絕事件。古生物學堪稱是廣義生物學領域中,最具傳統與經典的學科。近年來,又隨著生命科學研究的發展與化石持續地累積發掘,不斷地發生新的證據推翻舊有的假說,不斷地衝擊與挑戰生物演化的理論。藉由本課程,能透過對時間軸的貫穿,逐一檢視地質史中所發生重大生物演化的事件,對於生命的演化歷程有更深入的瞭解。也對生命的現象產生更臻廣泛的認識。
Paleontology mainly expounds the morphological features, structural functions, kinship, living habits, physiological functions and geographical distribution of life phenomena in various stages of the earth's history. Based on the sedimentary characteristics of fossils and strata, paleoclimate environment , Explore the origin of life, evolutionary adaptation and extinction events. Paleontology is the most traditional and classic discipline in the field of general biology. In recent years, with the development of life science research and the continuous accumulation of fossils, new proofs have been constantly emerging to overthrow the old hypotheses and constantly attack and challenge the theory of biological evolution. Through this course, through the passage of the timeline, one by one view of the major biological evolution occurred in the geological history of events, the evolution of life have a more in-depth understanding. It also produces a more extensive understanding of the phenomenon of life.
