This course focuses on the "ecological practice of homeland environment." First, starting from the link between human life and the surrounding ecology, we will understand the effects of various compound cycles on people and other lives, and think about and develop environmentally friendly lifestyles. Furthermore, from the point of view of environmental conservation, we should examine the responsibility as a citizen of the earth, how to make sustainable development create a common development of the environment, economy, and society, take into account the distribution of resources of the present generation, and the needs of the continuation of future generations. Think about a reasonable life in the field. Finally, through the example of the land, it helps to understand the need to pay attention to environmental issues in order to analyze media messages, respond to issues, and take responsibility.
There are three main elements of this course. The first is the “scientific inquiry attitude”. From the basic knowledge of popular science, an overview of the entire environment changes is established. The rigorous and repetitive verification spirit is emphasized, and the various aspects of the environment are constantly explored. The diversity of biological evolution makes it possible for human beings to master their own situation. What is more, it is "responsibility to the environment". From the viewpoint of mainstream environmental ethics, individuals and society are better treated with regard to the environment. They are committed to maintaining the integrity of the environment, health and beauty. Finally, it is “correct media reading”. It builds the ability of individuals to develop self-determination through a variety of environmental issues and various media information on the issues, so as to facilitate the implementation of various actions in life, so as to promote the concept of environmental conservation and sustainable development. .
The purpose of this course is to give full play to the concept of environmental education, that is, to help students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and values, expect to be able to individually or collectively act in the future, to solve current and future environmental problems, and to help students adapt to their environment. Knowledge, skills and values influence others through education. In other words, it is a value education, emphasizing environmental action and problem solving, and respecting the values of all things and disadvantaged people. In order to improve the environmental education in Taiwan is too much emphasis on the deviation of knowledge and individual communication, this curriculum development covers the beauty of Taiwan's natural ecology, environmental issues analysis, and natural experience.
