詞為音樂文學，屬於中國文學史上風格特殊的文體，曲律曼妙、情思宛轉、意境深幽，令人咀嚼未盡。其形成與發展的歷程，亦和唐宋特殊的社會背景與時代氛圍有關。而曲承續詞，又進一步發展，分有散曲、劇曲，劇曲更是抒情傳統與敘事傳統的匯流，成為具有獨特審美價值的「劇詩」。礙於上課時間有限，本課程以唐宋詞為大部分內容，曲的部分僅於下學期期末考之後再講授散曲，不涉及劇曲。本課程將融入文學史的概念，啟發學生思考詞之起源與時代、社會背景之間的聯繫；訓練學生思考詞人的生命歷程與其詞作之間的關係；透過重要作品的講授，引導學生領略詞之為音樂文學，如何透過宛轉悠揚的曲律，表達委曲幽渺的詞境。本課程以唐宋詞為講授範圍，首先融入文學史的概念來探討詞體起源、發展歷程，再從曲律學的角度分析詞體的形式特質。其後進行名家詞作選讀與討論，以歷史脈絡的方式，依序介紹中唐詞、西蜀詞、南唐詞、北宋詞、南宋詞，以切實理解詞家風格之形成，並思索其詞史地位。另外，也嘗試引導學生學習填詞，藉由親身創作，體會詞體神髓，再創詞的美麗意境。The word for music literature, belong to the style of Chinese literature in the history of special style, graceful melody, feelings of love Wan, mood deep, it is chewing unfinished.
